Joan Docktor launched her career in real estate in 1986 and currently serves as the President of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, REALTORS®. She embarked as a sales associate, achieved Rookie of the Year as a novice agent, and rose through the ranks over the years after many notable achievements. Joan’s continuous upward movement is a testament to her leadership abilities and the respect that she garners in both the company and the industry.
Joan has been instrumental to the growth and profitability of the company, which is the largest single market brokerage in the US servicing Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. As an entity of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, the company is now part of the second largest brokerage in the country with over 60 sales offices, over 4,600 sales associates, and 700 employees. The company offers relocation services, builder’s marketing, and land development. As part of HomeServices, the company not only provides real estate services, but provides mortgage financing as well as title, property, and casualty insurance through The Trident Group family of companies.
Outside of the company, Joan is a Board of Directors member at The Main Line Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Fox & Roach Charities Board. Joan is also the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors of The Realty Alliance, a network of North America’s elite real estate firms. In addition, she is Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors of TREND Multiple Listing Service and is on the Board of Managers of the National Broker Public Portal. Joan is a both a member and mentor at The Forum for Executive Women. She was featured in Philadelphia Style magazine as one of the city’s nine most influential women, was listed as one of Inman’s 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders, and was noted as one of the Swanepoel Power 200 Most Powerful Leaders in Residential Real Estate in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015. In addition, she was selected as a 2014 SmartCEO’s Brava Award winner, named as a 2014 Women of Distinction in the Philadelphia Business Journal, and listed as the 2014 100 Most Influential Real Estate Executives by Real Estate Executive magazine. Joan also participated with the Philadelphia Business Journal, as part of the Mentoring Monday nationwide event in 2015.
