Bio
Michael Christopher Scarafile grew up in Charleston and graduated from Porter-Gaud High School. He attended Drew University in Madison, NJ, received his BA from the College of Charleston and his JD from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in 1998. While attending law school, Scarafile interned for United States District Court Judge David C. Norton. After graduating from law school, he worked as a law clerk for Circuit Court Judge A. Victor Rawl. As a young attorney, Scarafile joined the prestigious McNair Law Firm in 1999, specializing in civil litigation. For five years he represented numerous clients, including Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co., Showa Denko Carbon, Westinghouse Savannah River Plant and the Commissioners of Public Works (CPW). In addition, Scarafile was an adjunct professor and taught Constitutional Law at the Citadel. In 2004, Scarafile was asked by Board Chairman Michael O’Shaughnessy to serve as General Counsel for Carolina One Real Estate and Mortgage (formerly Prudential Carolina Real Estate). Carolina One is the largest real estate company in South Carolina and the 65th largest real estate company in the US. Today, at 38, he is President of the prestigious company as well as General Counsel working with more than 800 Brokers, Managers, Realtors®, Realtor® Associates and staff, assisting them with business development, legal matters and day to day real estate and business issues.
