Pig Out for the Cure was invented by Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston realtors more than 10 years ago to contribute to local cancer research and treatment. Since its inception, Pig Out has raised $92,000 for Lineberger.

This year alone, four CBHPW offices in Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina raised $51,200 by selling sponsorships and plates of BBQ. Donations were also contributed from people who have been affected by cancer.

The BBQ plates were assembled on-site by employees and agents.

Matthew Horton from CBHPW told WRAL News that more agents than ever sold BBQ or sponsorships this year, resulting in the hefty donation.

"This year really blew it out of the park," he said.
