In the real estate business since 1973 and with The Allen Tate Company since 1991, Pat Riley guides the Tate Leadership Team of 40 and leads all aspects of the 47-year old company. Under Mr. Riley's direction, Allen Tate Company posted sales of more than $3.6 billion and 18,200 transactions in 2002. The Company ranks #8 among privately held residential real estate companies and #18 among all residential real estate firms in America. In fact, Allen Tate Realtors ranks as the most productive firm per associate in America's top 50 companies.

The Allen Tate Company specializes in residential brokerage including the marketing of new homes for local, regional and national builders through BSI (Builder Services, Inc.). BSI currently markets 65 communities with sales of more than $708 million and transactions numbering 3,560 annually. The Allen Tate Family of Companies also includes the award winning Allen Tate Relocation Services and other specialty companies such as Allen Tate Home Services, Allen Tate Mortgage Services, Allen Tate Insurance Services and Executive Home Management.

After graduating from Indiana University in Pennsylvania, Pat began his career and received his GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designation in 1973. He became a Certified Residential Specialist in 1979 and a Certified Real Estate Broker in 1980. In 1976 and 1980, he was awarded Realtor of the Year. Among his other achievements are: past president of the Pennsylvania CRB Chapter, three-time winner of the National PHH Personal Achievement Award and a national speaker at the various trade and association conventions for the past 29 years.

While in Pennsylvania, Pat was principal of C. Pat Riley Realtors® and president of Riley Horst Realtors® from 1973-88. He held several professional positions during this time including the real estate board chairs and chair of the Lancaster, Pa. Planning Commission for two of eight years. In addition, Pat was an instructor for Penn State University. In 1988, he merged his firm with B. Gary Scott Realtors® , based in Delaware, where he relocated to serve as the senior vice president until 1991 when he was recruited to the Allen Tate Company in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Pat currently serves on The Realty Alliance Board of Directors. He is also an active civic leader in Charlotte and has served as chairman of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce membership drive (1994), the Chamber's board of directors (1996-99) and was re-elected to serve through 2004 on the Executive Committee and the Group Vice-Chair on Public Policy. From 1996 through 2002, Pat has been on the Charlotte Advocates for Education Board of Directors and served as chairman in 2001. In addition, he has co-chaired the 1997 and 2002 School Bond campaigns. In 1998, he joined the Arts & Science Council Board of Directors, where he served as chairman from 2001 to 2002. During his tenure as board chair, the Arts & Science Council raised more than $10 million making it the number one united arts fund in the country. Currently, Pat is chairman of the Foundation for the Arts & Sciences, a director for the Charlotte Regional Partnership and a board member of the Center City Partners.

Pat resides in Charlotte with his wife, Robbin, and has three children, Brian, Kelly and Taylor. He enjoys running, tennis and spectator sports.
